YOUR CHILD WON'T LEARN THIS IN SCHOOL...

How I use chess to fix the damage caused by traditional education and help kids reach their full potential.

Forget about school. Show your child that learning can be fun. This summer, give your child the gift of chess.

In school I learned to recite knowledge; I wish someone had taught me to think. This summer I share what I discovered in more than 20 years of using chess to help kids succeed, and how your child can achieve the same results as thousands of other kids worldwide who have taken this program. Summer may last only weeks, but the lessons children learn and skills they gain in this unique program will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

Unbound Creativity

Children learn how to make their own box before they think outside of it. They learn to use imagination, creativity and originality as powerful tools for success in chess and in life.

Cooperation and Collaboration

Children discover how reaching their own goals becomes much easier when they help others reach theirs. How to work together without sacrificing your unique voice.

Courageous Action

Children realize how courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the ability to listen to it, step into it, and learn from it. What is a calculated risk, and how to recognize and trust your intuition.

Reaching Targets

Children learn to shift their focus from the goal itself to the actions they take, the direction they are headed in, and the person they become on the way to turning their dreams into reality.

Making Decisions

Children learn the power of choice in making decisions, and how to own the consequences of their actions. We can't control events, but we can always choose how we respond to them. And there is always a choice.

Confidence and Clarity

Children learn how their resourcefulness is much more important than their resources. By taking consistent action that is aligned with their values they boost their confidence, raise their self-esteem, and become unstoppable.

We asked kids what they think about this program. This is what they said:

"...Students learn to develop higher-level thinking skills including problem solving, reasoning, connecting and reflecting. Some comments from the teachers include well-organized, fantastic, challenging... The best testimonials, however, come from the students themselves: exciting, super, we learn to set goals, we get to use our imaginations, we all participate, we learn to be fair, fantastic, fun, funny, I learn every day, I’ve learned to plan before I move, I like the stories, awesome, cool and epic...".

He was in pain. Yelling, kicking furniture.

So I did this.

A Toronto Principal in a school for at-risk youth shares what happened when we ran into a 10-year-old boy who was roaming the halls unattended.
